McKesson Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Precision Medicine Group, a global provider of clinical research and biopharma commercialization services, for approximately $2.25 billion.
Following the transaction, Precision Medicine Group will report within McKesson’s Oncology & Multispecialty segment. The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory clearances.
The acquisition expands McKesson’s capabilities across the drug development and commercialization continuum, particularly in oncology and other specialty-care markets. Precision Medicine Group works with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies from development through commercialization, providing services that span clinical research, biomarker intelligence, laboratory operations, market access, and commercialization support.

Its capabilities include biomarker intelligence and laboratory services, a global contract research organization, market access consulting, and commercialization support. These services enable sponsors to manage clinical development while preparing therapies for regulatory submission, market access, and eventual patient use.
For McKesson, the acquisition adds clinical research and execution capabilities to an established healthcare platform with significant exposure to oncology and multispecialty care. The combination is expected to broaden clinical services and strengthen support for biopharma customers.

McKesson Chief Executive Officer Brian Tyler said the transaction supports the company’s oncology and multispecialty strategy by adding complementary capabilities in clinical research and commercialization.
The company expects Precision Medicine Group’s expertise to strengthen clinical trial execution while expanding the range of clinical services available to biopharma customers. The combination also extends McKesson’s role beyond healthcare delivery and distribution into additional stages of the biopharmaceutical development pathway.
Precision Medicine Group CEO Margaret Keegan said the combination will allow the company to extend its clinical and commercial expertise across a broader customer base. She highlighted the opportunity to support biopharma companies through both development and commercialization.

The transaction will move Precision Medicine Group into McKesson’s Oncology & Multispecialty segment after closing. The combined organization will bring together clinical research, biomarker and laboratory capabilities with commercialization and market access expertise.
