Pfizer Inc. has launched a new affordability initiative on the TrumpRx platform aimed at reducing out-of-pocket prescription costs for Americans. Effective immediately, the program offers access to more than 30 Pfizer medicines at substantial discounts off list prices.

The launch is tied to Pfizer’s broader Most Favored Nation agreement with the U.S. government, an effort designed to bring U.S. drug prices closer to those paid in other developed countries while allowing the company to continue investing in research and development.

How the TrumpRx discounts work

The TrumpRx program is open to uninsured patients as well as insured individuals who choose to self-pay outside of their insurance plans. Pfizer said discounts can reach as high as 85%, with average savings of around 50%, covering most of its primary care medicines and select specialty brands.

The medicines included address a wide range of common and chronic conditions, including migraine, rheumatoid arthritis, menopause-related symptoms, atopic dermatitis, and overactive bladder. Pfizer estimates that more than 100 million Americans live with conditions treated by drugs available through the program.

Albert Bourla, Chairman and CEO of Pfizer, said the initiative responds to long-standing concerns that American patients have paid more than their share to support global pharmaceutical innovation. He added that Pfizer is working with the administration of Donald Trump to improve affordability while preserving the country’s leadership in medical innovation.

Making discounted medicines easier to access

To ensure patients can easily use the savings, Pfizer is partnering with GoodRx. Through this collaboration, patients can use GoodRx coupons at most U.S. pharmacies or choose select at-home delivery options, giving them flexibility in how they fill their prescriptions.

The TrumpRx initiative also aligns with Pfizer’s direct-to-consumer strategy. The company plans to continue expanding its PfizerForAll platform, launched in 2024, to give patients more direct control over how they access and manage their medicines, with less reliance on intermediaries.
